Richard George Moe

Known to all as Dick, Richard George Moe was born on August 4, 1934 to Herman and Mildred Moe in Glenwood Minnesota.  Dick passed away at home in Ridgecrest, CA on November 15, 2018, at the age of 84.  Dick married Kathleen (Kathi) Olson on February 18, 1956, in Denver, Colorado.  He attended Starbuck and Glenwood High Schools, graduating from Glenwood in 1952.   He served in the Missile Training Squad in the USAF from 1955 to 1959.  He attended North Dakota State University and graduated in 1962 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  After five years of aerospace employment in the land of ice and snow (Minnesota) he hired on to warm weather NOTS China Lake in 1967 as a Mechanical Engineer.  In 1976 he attended the Naval Post Graduate School, graduating in 1977 with a Master's Degree in Systems Acquisitions.    He retired from the Naval Air Warfare Center in 1985.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack Moe and Ray Mattson, and his youngest daughter, Peggie.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathi;  daughters Cynthia (Kelly) Moore and Lydia (Curt) Kravitz, grandchildren ,  Calvin Moore,  Zoe (Lukas) Phelan,  Lucas (Neda) Hilmo, Kelsie (Corey) Batie,  Nicole and Jared Kravitz, Kelly (Chaim) Gross,  Aleisa Bebee,  James (Trish) Thorpe, Cayla (Travis) Winger, Katie (Larry) Little, Dreama Thorpe, and Michelle Cook.  Great-grandchildren include Austyn Bebee, Marion and Matthew Thorpe, Brody and Bryce Potter, Blevens and Brogan Little, Akiva and Yehuda Gross, and Oliver and Griffin Batie.  Dick is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Dick was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for many years and loved the church family.  A celebration of life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on December 8, 2018 at 10:30, with a reception following the service in the Grace Fellowship Hall.
