Sidney David Seamount

Sidney (Sid) David Seamount, aged 95, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on January 7th, 2021.  Born to Edwin and Clara Seamount (Gibbs) in Fruita, Colorado on June 1st, 1925, he quickly learned the value of hard work from his father building houses.  By the time Sid was 21 he had created 2 business ventures, "Sids Automotive" and "Sids Car Sales" .  He also raced cars on a dirt track before being called up to the Army/Air Corp.  where he began training as a pilot.

The war was winding down and pilots were not in demand.  Sid therefore began a lifelong career as an Engineer in the Air Force.  After many re-locations around the world and in the U.S., accompanied  by his wife and 4 kids, Sid retired as a Colonel, Chief Engineer,  at Edwards AFB.  His skills, training, ingenuity, and dedication showed in the many accolades and medals he had acquired throughout his life.

Sid is survived by his daughter Patricia and 3 sons, Charles, Phillip, and Joseph.  He is preceded in death by 2 wives, Hazel M. Seamount and Helen J. Eames.

Sidney was very much a loving family man and Husband, always finding the time for ball with his kids, nights out with his wife, or popcorn around the television during boxing night!  He will be missed.
