Susan Elizabeth Brooks

The family of Sue Brooks regretfully announces her passing in Ridgecrest, CA on January 24, 2022 at the age of 63.

Sue was born on January 21, 1959 in San Bernardino, CA to Mary Watts and Joe Johnson. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1977. After having her children Mandy and Malia (Niki), she left the Inland Empire for Ridgecrest/Trona area in 87' to have her daughter Mallory. 3 years later her son Matthew arrived. One of her great joys was knowing the ins and outs of automotive engines and parts. After a few positions behind part counters she became a stay at home mom to care for her children. Years later in 99' she married the love of her life, Ed Brooks, she soon went back to work behind the pharmacy counter. She loved working within the pharmacy and worked hard to earn her pharmacy technician certification. Over the course of the next 15 years she enjoyed working at White Cross pharmacy, Rite Aid Pharmacy and Walmart Pharmacy. She enjoyed working with her coworkers and customers. It was of great sadness to her to leave her working days behind as her eyesight began to diminish. She spent the rest of her days enjoying her time as a grandma to her grandbabies. She was known to many of her children's friends as momma Sue, she loved hard and in turn her children learned to love just as hard.

Sue is survived by her husband, Ed Brooks; children, Mandy (Chris) Colley of Orlando, Florida, Mallory (Nathan) Connell of Spokane Valley, WA, Matt (Faryn) King of Ridgecrest, CA and son-in-law Justin Fraser; Grandchildren, Ashley and Nick Colley, Kaleb Fraser, Devin, Raelyn and Jackson Connell, and Emily, Aubrey and Adelyn King. Siblings, Mary Brown (Rick) of Fort Mohave, AZ, Jackie Rodriguez of Ridgecrest, CA, Eddy Watts (Valerie) of Ridgecrest, CA, Joyce Marker of Ridgecrest, CA, Joe Johnson Jr. (Lisa) of Gary, TX, Linda Barden of Benton, LA., Sharon Gregory of Bay Town, TX, Judy Rieke (Dwain) of Hallsville, TX, Donna Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Sandy Peña (D.J.) of Lumberton, TX. Sister-in-law Sara Brooks of Greeley, CO. As well as numerous nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her daughter Malia (Niki) Fraser, Mother Mary Watts, Stepfather Edward Watts, Sister Ruby Sanderson, Father Joe Johnson and Stepmother Joann Johnson

A viewing is scheduled for January 29, 2022, 3pm-5pm at Holland and Lyons Mortuary, with a private family celebration of life to follow.
