Susan Olson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, in 1951, Susan spent her early years surrounded by the beauty of the islands before moving to Modesto, California. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert Olson, while still in high school—a love story that would last a lifetime.
In 1972, Susan and Robert moved to Ridgecrest, California, as Robert began his career at the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. Together, they built a warm and loving home where they raised their three sons—Scot (Shawna), Jon (Jessica), and Joe (Jen)—instilling in them the values of kindness, dedication, and family.
Susan's greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren: Tyler (Katie), Zach (Grace), Patience (Justin), Nich (Courtney), Brenndan (Mallory), Austin, and Jaysen. Her heart expanded even more with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Houston, Bennett, Harper, Ellie, Charlotte: and another Great Grandson on the way.
Susan was the heart of her family—steady, generous, and always present. Whether cheering from the sidelines, organizing family gatherings, or offering gentle guidance, she gave herself completely to those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, an enduring example of love and grace, and a family who will carry her with them always.
