Thomas H. McManis
Services for Thomas H. McManis of Ridgecrest, Calif. – a former Peoria resident who died on Thursday (Jan. 4, 2018), of a stroke – will include a rosary and visitation at his church in Ridgecrest. Local visitation and rosary will precede services at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
The Rev. Kenneth Marchulones will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo. He was born February 15, 1964 in Peoria to George E. and Mary Ann (Stenger) McManis Jr. They preceded him in death, as did his grandparents and brother George E. McManis III.
Surviving are his stepfather James R. McManis and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Scott) Baker of Warren, Minnesota, Mrs. Margaret Ellen (Kevin) Lawrence, Mrs. Barbara Ann (Richard) Brant, and Christina Mary (Richard) Baker, two uncles, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He attended St. Vincent DePaul School before moving to California in 1976. He graduated from Burroughs High School and Cerro Coso College in Ridgecrest.
He was currently working for a Special Projects Office at the Naval Air Weapons Center in China Lake, California, having previously worked at the Range Control Center and Lockheed-Martin, also at China Lake.
He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ridgecrest as well as being active with the Our Lady of the Desert Chapel at China Lake.
