Victor Jesus Lara, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 25. Born on June 18, 2001, Victor's life, though brief, was marked by a radiant presence and a genuine joy that he infused into every moment and relationship.

From an early age, Victor endeared himself to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His bright smile, kind spirit, and unwavering warmth brought happiness to those around him. Whether with family, at school, or among friends, Victor's enthusiasm was infectious, and his sense of fun lit up every gathering.

Victor's journey in academia was distinguished by diligence and achievement. He was a proud graduate of Sherman E. Burroughs High School in 2019. He went on to earn three associate degrees from Oxnard Junior College in 2022, in Natural Science, Economics, and Behavioral Science, displaying both his intellectual curiosity and determination. In 2026, he achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Electromechanical System Engineering Technology from California Polytechnic University at Pomona, graduating from the esteemed College of Engineering. This accomplishment was a testament to Victor's perseverance and ambition.

Shortly after graduating college, Victor embraced a promising new chapter as a Field Engineer with Kiewit Corporation in Lenexa, Kansas. His drive, intelligence, and pride in his work foreshadowed a bright future, one he undertook with characteristic enthusiasm and optimism.

Victor will be remembered not only for his achievements, but also for the zest with which he lived life. He found delight in simple pleasures: building Legos, online gaming with friends and family, shooting pool, barbecuing, watching movies, and savoring a good pizza. He particularly cherished moments spent with his family, his cousins, his niece, and his little brother. The bonds he nurtured were evidence of his loyal and caring heart.

Adventurous by nature, Victor loved to travel and seek out new experiences. He enjoyed visiting other states, sightseeing, ocean fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and surfing—drawing joy from both the tranquility and excitement the outdoors had to offer. For Victor, exploring the world was always more meaningful when shared with loved ones.

One of Victor's proudest and happiest roles was that of uncle. The love he shared with his niece was palpable—a source of deep pride and joy. His daily interactions with friends were a testament to the close-knit relationships he built across all aspects of his life.

Victor is survived by a devoted and loving family: his mother, Christina Hoffpauir (Adam) of Casper WY; his father, Stanley David Lara of Ridgecrest, Ca; his brothers, Anthony David Lara (Bailee) of Prata Di Pordenone, Italy and Myles Lara of Ridgecrest, Ca; his grandmothers, Maria Hamaty and Susan Jensen; his grandfather, Victor L.; his uncles, Victor J. Jensen, Jr., James Jensen, and Andrew Lara; his cousins, Noah Mendoza, Victor C. Jensen, Valerie Jensen, Evan Jensen, Mackenzie Lara, Colton Lara, Sawyer Lara, and Lynnix Lara; his cherished niece, Maya Lara; and his close friend, Jacob Trigg. He is also remembered by many more extended family members and friends whose lives he touched deeply. Victor was predeceased by his cousin, Brian R. Jensen.

Though his time in this world was heartbreakingly short, Victor's legacy is immeasurable. He will be remembered as a smart, funny, determined, and loving young man whose promise inspired those around him. The laughter, memories, and love he shared will remain cherished by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Victor at a viewing on August 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holland & Lyons Mortuary, 216 S Norma St, Ridgecrest, CA 93555. A Mass celebrating Victor's life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St Ann's Catholic Church, 446 West Church Avenue, Ridgecrest, CA 93555.

Victor's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the memories of a life beautifully lived. May he rest in peace.
