Virjean Mary "Jeannie" Miller, 84, passed away peacefully in her home in Ridgecrest, California on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Jeannie was born on January 29, 1941 to parents Harry George Bennett and Grace Bennett in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, the third of four daughters. Her family moved to Ridgecrest in 1951 where she would reside the rest of her life.
After graduating from Burroughs High School, Jeannie worked as a Library Technician at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station. She met and married her husband of over fifty years, Denny Miller, in 1971 and the couple would go on to raise a son, Jason. When Jason was grown she would resume her career as a Library Technician, this time at Cerro Coso Community College until she retired.
Jeannie was an avid cook and baker and enjoyed sharing her creations with friends and family on many holidays and special occasions. She was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, providing many hours of her time to assist both the school and parish. Her volunteer roles included serving lunch at the church's elementary and middle schools, participating in the funeral and senior luncheon programs, and assisting with the Christmas Bazaar. She was also a member of The Legion of Mary and a Eucharistic Minister.
Jeannie is survived by her husband, Denny Miller, and son, Jason Miller, of Ridgecrest, California and her sister, Vonnie Bennett, of Lancaster, California.
She is predeceased by her parents Harry and Grace Bennett and two of her sisters, Jill McEwen and Vicki Gallaher.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Desert Memorial Park.
