William Earl Farrar

November 9, 1958 — January 15, 2021

Lancaster

William Earl "Bill" Farrar, a modern day cowboy, of Lancaster, Ca, was called home to his Heavenly log cabin mansion in the sky on Friday, January 15th, 2021. His battle with cancer came to an end as he hung up his spurs and passed from this life to the next, very peacefully, in his home, surrounded by his family and friends at 9:44pm.
Bill was born on November 9th, 1958, in Los Angeles county and adopted shortly thereafter by George T. and Joan M. Farrar. Bill grew up in the Sunland area. He enjoyed working in his dad's machine shop as a teen and enjoyed many fun times at the family cabin in Twenty-nine Palms.
Bill met the love of his life, Cathy, at a Bible Study. They married on July 31st, 1982. In addition to being a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, Bill enjoyed watching westerns (particularly John Wayne movies) and tinkering with cars and motorcycles. His hobbies included riding motorcycles and horses, shooting with his gun club in Ridgecrest, and camping with family and friends.
Bill was a member of the California Rangers for over 40 years and ranked as a major in his final days. He was in the trucking industry for 38 years. Bill was self-employed for seven years with Farrar & Sons Trucking. For 20 years, Bill worked as a Teamster for the Hollywood entertainment industry by transporting sets, props, guests, staff, etc. His last 10 years were spent with the television show "The Talk." The staff and hosts honored him on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021, with a small dedication. It was a special blessing to his wife and all who knew and loved him when they ended it by stating that he was "a man of great faith."
Bill was a born again Christian for 44 years. He was a faithful member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Quartz Hill and served in leadership as a deacon, bus driver, and sound technician. He loved serving the Lord with all of his heart. Bill had the joy of the Lord and enjoyed making others laugh. It's hard to imagine him without a smile on his face.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Cathy Farrar, his sons Steven Snyder of South Haven, KS, and William "Will" Farrar (Amanda) of California City, and grandsons Dylan, Hunter, Logan and Jackson. He is also survived by an Aunt, Virginia, of MO, his sister, Joi Ashli Farrar of AZ, a niece, nephews, and cousins.
